On 13-08-2024 department of commerce conducted a lecture on legal right of persons by Advocate Rajesh Sharma from District Legal Services Authority moga.

A highly productive Mock Interview Session was conducted by the Placement officer, DBEE Moga, at Guru Nanak College, Moga, providing students with invaluable exposure to real-world interview scenarios. A total of 25 candidates participated in the session, where they were meticulously assessed and guided to enhance their confidence and preparedness for upcoming placement opportunities. In addition to the technical round preparation, candidates received expert feedback and suggestions to refine their communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and overall interview performance. Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Principal, and Dr. GJS Bhullar, Associate Professor (Economics), Guru Nanak College, Moga, shared their insights and provided valuable guidance to the participants. Dr. Vikas Mongia, Head, Department of Computer Science, Palwinder Singh, Assistant Professor, Commerce emphasized key strategies for excelling in professional interviews.
Celebrate the International women day (10/03/2025)
To commemorate the International women day which falls on 8 March a function was organised today as on 10/3/25 under the patronship of Principal Dr Jatinder Kaur and supervision of Dr GJS Bhullar Head Department of Economics of Guru Nanak College Moga. The programme was started with the recitation of College Shabad. It was followed by lecture of Advocate Rajesh Kumar Sharma from District Legal services Authority Moga. He talked about various rights of women and safety of women at work place. In case of any compelling reasons he discussed the formalities of having free legal aid.
Principal Dr Jatinder Kaur discussed in detail the problems faced by girls and young women and their solutions. She also gave examples of great women from Sikh History who have served the mankind. Students of commerce department also participated and expressed themselves in the form of poetry, songs, stories and lectures.
Workshop entitled “Tips and Tricks to Avoid Anxiety Before Interviews
invited by Placement cell. (13/3/2025)
Today as on 13/3/25 a workshop conducted on “Tips and Tricks to Avoid Anxiety Before Interviews: Your Guide to Pre-Interview Calm.” Dr Gurinder Jit Singh Bhullar Head Department of Economics was the resource person. The goal was to help students manage interview anxiety and build confidence. The speaker, shared helpful techniques for staying calm. These included the 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique, which helps students stay focused and reduce stress, and the 4-7-8 Breathing Exercise, which uses controlled breathing to calm the mind. This workshop, organized by Dr. Mongia Placement officer with support from S. Palwinder Singh, Assistant Professor of Commerce. Students of commerce departments were present and learn how to handle interview stress and perform well. It was a valuable experience that helped students feel more prepared and confident. Programme dedicated to the Martydom day of Shaheed – E – Azam S Bhagat Singh, Shaeed Rajguru and Saheed Sukhdev (24/3/2025)
Today as on 24/3/25 S Palwinder Singh Deparment of commerce and Dr GJS Bhullar Head Deparment of Economics being members of Anti Drug and Anti Ragging Cell of Guru Nanak College Moga organised a programme dedicated to the Martydom day of Shaheed – E – Azam S Bhagat Singh, Shaeed Rajguru and Saheed Sukhdev.The programme was started with the College Shabad followed by lecture by Principal Dr Jatinder Kaur on drug awareness. She insisted that true homage to the martyrs is to follow their path and serve the nation.The students should say no to drugs. The Principal administered the oath to the staff and students in which all took pledge to refrain from drugs and educate others to do so. Five students also presented their views on the drug menace while four students recited poetry to express their views about the martyrs.
Dr GJS Bhullar talked about ragging.The speaker explained that ragging is mental physical,sexual and verbal abuse or indecent behaviour or any act of undermining human dignity or exploitation in any manner. He elucidate that any such act will have dire consequences such as suspension from the College or cancellation of admissions. Dr Vikas Mongia arranged to play songs related to the martyrs at the end of the programme. The whole programme was conducted by S Palwinder Singh Assistant Professor Commerce. The anchor also gave his valuable inputs time to time in the programme
Workshop on mission 100 (25/03/25)
Today as on 25/3/25 girls students of Department of Commerce attended the workshop on Mission 100 meant for the preparing female students for the CAT examination. The students were highly motivated to appear in the test for selection for training programme. Female Students of B.Com II and B.Com III were registered themselves for entrance test of CAT examination. Mandeep kaur tangra was the Chief Guest in this workshop and she encourage the female students to develop entrepreneurship skills.
Visit to Panjab and Sind Bank to have practical experience of the day today banking (28/03/2025)
Today as on 28/3/25 the department of Commerce with department of Economics of Guru Nanak College Moga arranged a visit to Panjab and Sind Bank to have practical experience of the day today banking. The Manager Sri Kamal Garg and the staff were very cooperative. They not only enlightened the students about the practices of the bank but also provided various forms to the students so that they are familiar with the banking operations. On returning back to the college practical session was conducted in which students were asked to fill different forms like withdrawal form, pay in slip, application form for various services like issue of drafts, operation of lockers etc. After the session students felt confident about the various practices of the bank. The students who missed the opportunity to attend the 16 September on campus banking facilities camp made up for the missed opportunity.
